Are you ready? Check out our list of the 10 best vape batteries. Any of them may be suitable for your next battery purchase.
In A Rush? Here’s our top pick:
10. MiOne Brands Slim Battery
The MiOne Slim battery is an entry-level introduction to rechargeable small batteries, allowing you to easily use one of your favorite vaping cartridges.
The 380 mAh rechargeable battery is a good option for beginners, and light users should get plenty of use throughout the day. Its small size makes it perfect if you want to be discreet about your vaping.
However, the lack of any power output customization and the generally small capacity prevent this battery from being the best of the best.
9. Kanger eVod 1000mAh Vape Battery
The Kanger eVod battery is an all-around safe option, ready to go without the need to get a mod for your vape. This 1000 mAh rechargeable battery is a great choice if you’re just starting out and just need your next hit.
It’s light, durable, and easy to use, making it a perfect first vape battery. However, there are no customization options, and the relatively small battery capacity leaves much to be desired.
Overall, the eVod 1000 is a safe first pick, but some batteries offer more options out there.
8. Kanger eVod Twist Vape Battery
Next on the list is an improvement over the basic eVod battery – our previous entry. Kanger’s eVod Twist gives you similar ease of use but with an improved design.
The Twist version has the same 1000 mAh capacity. It is easily rechargeable and makes for a great choice for a beginner to use with their favorite vape cartridge.
This battery also has adjustable power output, allowing for a more customized experience with the vapor and flavor profiles.
Overall, Kanger’s eVod range of batteries would be great as a first choice, as the durable and lightweight design delivers a solid on-the-move vaping experience.
7. Samsung INR18650-25R 2500 MAH 20A Battery
If you’re using a vape mod, you’ll want a good battery to go with it. Unlike the previous two batteries that are all-in-one products, the remaining batteries are for power vape mods and are therefore to be bought separately.
This Samsung is a standard 2500 mAh rechargeable battery for a 18650-compatible vape mod. The 18650 designation refers to the size of the battery, which in this case is 18mm in width and 65mm in length. These are the most basic batteries you can find, but don’t let that fool you.
This battery can last quite a while even at higher power outputs and is fairly easy to charge. It can last for quite a high number of charges, but you will eventually need to replace it as each charge would diminish its maximum capacity to an extent.
At 20A of continuous current discharge, this is a very versatile and basic 18650 battery that won’t fail easily, and the Samsung brand name behind it is one of the reasons.
However, with all the benefits that Samsung brings to the table, there are better batteries out there in the 18650 range.
6. Hohm Tech Hohm Work 2 18650 2547 mAh 35.8A Battery
Hohm Tech is one of the best battery manufacturers for vaping mods, and this battery lives up to its reputation.
The 2547 mAh capacity will allow you to take your favorite mod for a spin for a few days at a time without a need to charge it. When you do need a recharge, this is a fast-charging battery that minimizes the downtime so you can have your vape hit whenever you feel like it.
This battery has a 24.7A CDR, meaning it is capable of powering heavier devices for a decent amount of time.
The battery is a good choice for those with a 18650-compatible vaping mod.
5. Hohm Tech Hohm Stretch 18650 2856 mAh 21.8a Battery
The Hohm Tech Stretch battery puts longevity first and you expect this to be a long-lasting battery capable of withstanding heavy use.
The improvement over the Work 2 battery above is that this battery has a slightly lower power output at a much better capacity, coming in at just over 2850mAh. This means that an average user can get multiple days of use from this battery without a need to charge their device.
Overall, if you’re using a vape mod that prefers a smaller power output and accepts an 18650 battery, this is a battery that will last and work well. How well? This is the best battery in its class.
4. Pownergy 20700 3000 mAh 30A
The Pownergy is a rather powerful battery suitable for larger vape mods that separate the average user from the true vaping pro.
The 20700 battery (20mm by 70mm in size) is rated at 3000mAh of capacity, enough to deliver plenty of juice to a vape mod for days at a time.
Straightforward and without hassle, this is a basic 20700 battery perfectly capable of delivering good results on the cheap.
3. EFan 20700 3100 mAh 40a Battery
The EFan is a solid choice in a 20700 battery. The 3100 mAh capacity, coupled with the high maximum output, makes this a great battery for higher-tier vape mods, especially one that needs a lot of power for the coils.
At a great price point, this battery won’t disappoint you, and you should keep it in mind if you have a compatible vaping mod.
2. Hohm Tech Sherlock Hohm 2 20700 3116 mAh 47.1a Battery
Once again, we turn to Hohm Tech for another great battery, this time for 20700-compatible vape mods.
This long-lasting, high-capacity battery (coming in at just over 3100 mAh) will make sure that your mod has very little downtime. The battery charges quickly and has good performance over a large number of charges, so consider this a very sound purchase. You will get a lot of mileage out of this battery before you need to replace it.
As is, this is the best 20700 battery on the market, and we cannot recommend it enough if you have a vape mod that uses this size battery.
1. Hohm Tech Hohm Run XL 21700 4007 mAh 38.6a Battery
We’ve saved the biggest for last. The huge Hohm Tech 21700 battery is a true behemoth in every sense.
The 4000 mAh capacity will power the most hardcore of vaping mods in existence and will make sure that you get your best hit whenever you want it. The quick-charging battery is also long-lasting with very little cycling drain.
Just make sure that your vape mod is compatible and can handle all of this power. Overall, this is the most cost-effective battery on a per Ah (or mAh) basis, and you can hardly go wrong with it, assuming that you have the equipment that runs on it.
What is CDR?
The Continuous Discharge Rate, or CDR, is a metric of how much discharge a battery can output without damage or reduced maximum capacity. For example, most 18650 batteries will range between 20 and 30 CDR.
Note that manufacturers will sometimes put the maximum discharge rate on the battery, which is a different metric and doesn’t give the full picture of the quality of the battery in question.
The maximum discharge rate is simply the output current that the battery can deliver in short bursts, which may damage the battery in return. As such, you should be careful when picking a battery, as this number usually says very little about the long-term quality of the product.
You should check your vape mod for the power output that it is optimized for and the compatible battery types.
For the simplest vape cartridges, you can use an all-in-one battery mod that doesn’t need anything else to work.
But the more sophisticated vapers among you will need something stronger to satisfy their itch, so a 18650, 20700, or 21700 battery will do the trick.
18650 batteries are still the most commonly used in vapes, and even newer vape mods will sometimes include casings for them, as they are reliable and have been on the market for the longest. As a rule of thumb, the higher the number of the battery, the higher its power output and capacity.
18650 batteries are also commonly used to power cordless power tools and LED flashlights, among other things, so there’s no shortage of uses for them.
