This is our complete SMOK RPM 80 Pod Mod Kit review.
SMOK is the king of pod vape systems, and one of my favorite ranges from SMOK is the RPM 80 series. SMOK released two separate versions of this pod mod system, which are:
- SMOK RPM 80
- SMOK RPM 80 PRO
They’re both very similar and offer the same features, with the PRO model offering a couple of additional features that qualify it for that ‘PRO’ status.
Today we’re going to be reviewing the SMOK RPM 80 and seeing whether it’s worth buying or not.
Let’s get into the review…

The SMOK RPM 80 Pod Mod Kit is one of two brand new product renditions to join this popular series.
The main difference between the two is the battery type. The RPM 80 features an internal 3000mAh battery while the RPM 80 PRO takes a single 18650 battery.
Both devices can output a massive 80 watts of power.
I can guarantee that fans of the original SMOK RPM 40 will love either device because they both perform equally as well.
The RPM 80 Pod Mod boasts a large eliquid space and an updated aesthetic.
The shape has been overhauled for 2020 vapers and as a result, is less square. SMOK has also included some beautiful stab wood-style variations for you to choose from.
SMOK is a well-liked vape manufacturer that’s been around since 2010. They specialize in creating a variety of vaping products that can chuck massive clouds of vapor with ease.
The SMOK RPM 80 Pod Mod Kit is much more compact in size when compared to the PRO version.
It measures just 109mm’s by 31.55mm’s by 26mm’s. What’s surprising is that it can still output the same wattage. The volt range is between 0.5 to 4.0 and the resistance is 0.15 to 3.0 ohms.
The internal battery can be recharged via the bottom MicroUSB port. The chassis is made from a high-quality Zinc-Alloy material.
The internal IQ-80 Chipset enables some basic functions, modes, and protections for the device.
This includes a handy automatic atomizer leveling system. On the front face are a clicky fire button and two small adjustment buttons. Various successive clicks will activate different things.
Five clicks will turn the device on or off. Three clicks will lock or unlock the power and holding both adjustment buttons will lock or unlock the watts.
The SMOK RPM 80 Pod Mod Kit comes with two different cartridges.
This includes the RPM and RGC. This is to accommodate the two different coil types. Both cartridges can hold 5ml of eliquid. This is 0.5ml more than the SMOK RPM 40.
The filling is made easy thanks to the extended side silicone stopper. The plug ‘n’ play coils are effortless to install but do come with some very minimal leaking issues.
The kit includes three different coils which comprise of a 0.4ohm RPM mesh coil, 0.17ohm RGC conical mesh coil, and soon-to-be-released 0.5 – 1.0ohm RGC RBA coil.
The flavor I experienced was good, but not the best. I still prefer the SMOK Nord 2 Pod in my honest opinion. Of course with any SMOK product, you can expect lots of vapor.
The airflow is adjustable, but I noticed very little difference between either option.
The SMOK RPM 80 Pod Mod Kit has sold out very quickly from the most popular USA-based online vendors.
I was though able to find it listed on EightVape for $30.36 USD. I think this is very affordable and well worth a purchase if you’re not interested in the PRO version.
Furthermore, if you prefer the shape and convenience of this particular model, I can highly recommend it.
The SMOK RPM 80 Pod Mod Kit is currently available in a variety of different colors and patterns.
My personal favorites include the beautiful black and red stab wood versions.
It also comes in fluid gold, fluid blue, black and white resin, rainbow, and black carbon fiber. The packaging design is clean and aesthetically pleasing.
Inside you’ll find an RPM 80 device, 2 x cartridges, 2 x coils, MicroUSB cable, and also a detailed user manual.
Overall, the SMOK RPM 80 is an impressive pod mod vape system, producing great flavor and clouds. In my personal opinion, I prefer the PRO model due to the external battery, but they’re both impressive pod mod vapes.
